You know the feeling of relief you finally get when you figure something out? Something that should have been clearly documented in the product manual?
This happens to me all the time. I wanted a place to capture all these solutions that would be easily, accessible, searchable and that ideally, could help others looking for the same information. I also didn't want to have to think about "where on the web should I post this?" – whether on a product support site, StackExchange site, Yahoo! Answers, or whatever.
